[3] TVD Fics: (Elijah/Caroline, Damon/Caroline, Klaus/Caroline)

Title:  Caroline Loves
Fandom:  The Vampire Diaries
Pairing/CharactersCaroline, Elijah/Caroline
Rating:  PG
Word Count:  350
Summary:  Elijah and Caroline are on vacation. What do they do?
A/N:  For [info]tombofchallenge's Character Bingo Challenge.

Caroline loves the ocean. She loves the look of it, the feel of the sand and the water, and she adores the smell.
Elijah calls her a dreamer.
“You know,” she tells him conversationally, “maybe if you dreamed more, you wouldn’t seem so unhappy.”
“Do I seem unhappy to you?” he asks her.
Caroline nods. They’re on a private beach, the water is beautiful, and all he can do is criticize her.
“You aren’t always perceptive, Caroline Forbes,” he says, pulling the sunglasses over his eyes, effectively ending the conversation.
Caroline loves hunting. “I don’t actually like eating the bunnies, but catching them makes me feel good. Calm.”
“It makes you feel superior,” Elijah supplies grouching, upon the discovery of just what they’re hunting.
“No,” she answers, her hand shaking slightly. “It makes me feel in control,” she admits.
Whatever the reason for the expedition, Elijah follows her through the woods as she chases bunnies and squirrels.
She glares at him when she notices that he’s caught five in the time it took her to get one.
“Don’t feel too disappointed,” he says.
Caroline loves shopping. She loves buying new things, but more than that, she loves trying on everything.
She puts on a fashion show for him because he’s there, and because it’s his credit card that is paying for this.
“I like the yellow dress,” he says, after she tries on the blue. “Go get that one, we’re buying that too.”
When she hands it to him with a smile on her face, he puts it in the pile with a whole bunch of other clothes.
“When are we going to do something you like?” she asks as they are in the car again.
Elijah’s hardly paying attention, yet is able to maintain complete control. Caroline envies that about him.
“We are,” he answers.
Caroline shakes her head. “No…we’ve only done things I like—I picked out the beach and the hunting and the shopping—you didn’t choose anything.
“Watching you makes me happy, Caroline. I chose to let you choose.”
Caroline thinks that’s the best answer ever.

Title:  Suicidal Tendencies
Fandom:  The Vampire Diaries
Pairing/CharactersDamon, Damon/Caroline
Rating:  PG
Word Count:  380
Summary:  How did they get this far off topic? “I never wanted to kill you, Barbie.”
A/N:  For [info]tombofchallenge's Character Bingo Challenge.

“You realize you’re slightly suicidal, don’t you?” Damon asks her in reference to her friendship—if it can be called such, because in his opinion, what they’re doing is exactly what he wants to have with Elena…with some additional benefits—with Tyler.
Caroline just glares at him for a minuet before turning back to the matter at hand—Elena’s birthday party planning. Somehow, with Stefan being out of Elena’s proverbial picture, Damon became front and center; and Caroline’s been subtlety (but not really) pushing them together (but not like that). So he’s helping Caroline plan the party that he (on Caroline’s demand) plans on escorting Elena to.
“What you did to me does not count,” she says. “I didn’t know what I was doing.”
Damon ponders the color schemes in front of him for a moment before pushing one across the table to her. “You knew I was danger, and you did it anyway,” he replies nonchalantly, in order to keep the conversational tone and atmosphere. “In this case, you know the danger and you’re willingly hanging out with him during the hairy stages.”
“You don’t abandon people you care about, Damon.”
It’s times like this that Damon wishes he just didn’t bother with her. (He doesn’t, really, she seems to seek him out, actually.) Her unintentional perception drives him to drink.
He pours himself another shot of whiskey and downs it as she pulls a new binder toward them. This time it’s the appetizers for the party. (What does he care? If they can’t serve blood, it doesn’t interest him—but he doesn’t say this to her.)
“It’s not abandonment, Blondie,” he recovers fast enough, “its survival.”
“Everything will be fine, Damon,” she says with a casual wave of her hand. “If I can survive you, I can survive Tyler. At least he doesn’t actually want to hurt me.”
His hesitation is minimal, but she picks up on it easily enough. “I never wanted to kill you, Barbie.”
She arches an eyebrow in a perfect imitation of him. “Really? So all those times you said  you were going to kill me never happened?”
He takes out three of the sheets with different appetizers and hands them to her. “I was lying back then, Caroline.”
(And then he’s outta there.)

Title:  The Art Of Interesting
Fandom:  The Vampire Diaries
Pairing/CharactersKlaus, Klaus/Caroline
Rating:  PG
Word Count:  385
Summary:  She doesn’t appreciate being ‘dragged half-way across the world by a psycho and then locked in a room.’
A/N:  For [info]tombofchallenge's Character Bingo Challenge.

She is so far beneath him in the food chain, the fact that they’re of the same species hardly matters. She laughs when he tells her this. A wonderful, carefree laugh.
He spends the next minuet studying her, trying to understand why she isn’t afraid of him like she should be.
“Why are you staring at me?” she asks hesitantly after a moment.
“I tried to kill you,” he replies, thinking aloud—not answering her question.
“So…that gives you the right to stare at me like that?”
“You’re interesting, Caroline.”
He learns, once they get to Russia, that she doesn’t appreciate being ‘dragged half-way across the world by a psycho and then locked in a room.’
She throws a lamp at his head. Or, tries to. He catches it before it does any real damage.
Klaus just looks at her, then the lamp, and asks, “Have you done that before?”
She screams in frustration and turns around, refusing to look at him.
He laughs as he locks her back in the room.
Four days later and he’s finally managed to calm her down enough that she is able to go out in public with him.
He takes her out to dinner.
“Why did you bring me with you?” she asks mid-bite.
“I had the desire to eat, and I thought you would want to get out of the compound for awhile.”
She glares at him. He wants to tell her that he thinks it’s cute, but knows she’ll stop glaring if he actually says it. “I was curious about you.”
She raises an eyebrow and stares at him in disbelief. “You kidnapped me because you were curious about me?”
“Yes, although I wouldn’t use the work ‘kidnap.’”
He notices that she doesn’t even bother to ask what he would call it.
When they’re on the plane out of Russia, he glances at her. “Do you want to go home?” he asks.
Caroline shakes her head. “I was thinking…Paris—I’ve never been there before.”
He laughs. She looks like a Paris girl. “You’ll have to be more…happy.”
She looks at him with a serious expression on her face. “You never look happy.”
“No,” he answers, “but I am interesting.”
She gives a slight nod. “Then, I’ll be interesting as well.”
He doesn’t tell her she already is.
